    Company description

The National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC) was established by the National Department of Human Settlements as a Development Finance Institution (DFI) in 1996, with the principal mandate of broadening and deepening access to affordable housing finance for low-to-middle income South African households.

    Bursary description

The National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC) is a development finance institution that supports the creation of affordable housing for low- and middle-income South African households. To enhance expertise and opportunities within the housing finance sector, NHFC has established a bursary fund for tertiary education. NHFC welcomes applications from eligible students who are pursuing their second year of study or postgraduate studies in specific fields, granting them the chance to be considered for the NHFC Bursary Fund.

    Requirements and eligibility

NHFC Bursary Fund applicants must meet the following requirements:

While the NHFC typically grants the full bursary amount, it retains the right to prioritise tuition fees, prescribed books, and course materials. Other needs like student accommodation will receive lower priority. The NHFC Bursary can be renewed annually based on academic performance.
