The Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) was founded in 1995 with the primary goal of addressing the underrepresentation of black professionals in the securities and investment industry. It also aimed to serve as a platform for fulfilling the aspirations of industry members and fostering a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among black professionals.
Over time, ABSIP's mission has expanded to encompass the empowerment of black professionals and businesses throughout the financial services sector. Its diverse membership now includes individuals from various sub-sectors, such as Asset Management, Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, Financial Consulting, Employee Benefits, Insurance, Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Private Banking, Private Equity, Stockbroking, Treasury, and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs).
