Bursary description
The EXXARO Bursary Program helps young South Africans go to college. They pay for everything, like tuition, housing, food, and even a laptop. After graduating, you get more training to become a leader at the company.
They also give you extra support, take you to their facilities, introduce you to experienced leaders, and let you work at one of their sites. If you do really well, you can win awards. Everyone gets to attend special events too.
Requirements and eligibility
To be eligible for the Exxaro Bursary, applicants must meet the minimum entry criteria as listed below. It's important to note that failure to satisfy all requirements will result in disqualification of the application:
1. Feeder Scheme bursaries:
Must be a South African citizen
Must be enrolled full-time in one of the listed fields of study for a minimum 4-year undergraduate degree
Must be studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
Geology students: Must be in their 2nd year of study
Electrical Engineering (BEng): Must be in their 2nd year of study
Industrial Engineering (BEng): Must be in their 2nd or 3rd year of study
Mechanical/ Mechatronic Engineering (BEng): Must be in their 2nd or 4th/final year of study
Metallurgical Engineering (BEng): Must be in their 2nd or 3rd year of study
Mining Engineering (BSc): Must be in their 2nd or 4th/final year of study
Mine Surveying / MRM: Must be in their 2nd year of study
2. Social Scheme bursaries:
Must be a South African citizen
Must reside within a community where Exxaro operates (Mpumalanga, Limpopo and surrounding areas)
Must be enrolled full-time in one of the listed fields of study for a minimum 3-year undergraduate degree
Must be studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
3. Students living with disabilities bursaries:
Must be a South African citizen
Must reside within a community where Exxaro operates (Mpumalanga, Limpopo and surrounding areas)
Must be living with a disability
Must be enrolled full-time in any discipline
Must be studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
The deadline for applications is March 31, 2023. Selection of candidates will begin shortly after this date. Those chosen to proceed to the next stage will be asked to send their documents (like their CV) through mail.
Candidate selection will follow Exxaro's Employment Equity policy.
