Bursary description
Bursary currently closed, will reopen 2024 in June.
Liberty provides bursaries for Actuarial Science to students who are enrolled full-time in their second year of study. The bursary covers various expenses such as tuition, accommodation, meals, and travel allowance (where necessary), as well as other forms of support, networking opportunities, and vacation work. Upon completion of your university studies, you will be offered employment with Liberty.
Requirements and eligibility
Minimum Entry Criteria for Applicants:
To be eligible for the Liberty Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:
Be a South African citizen by birth or descent
Have completed their Matric/ Grade 12 year
Be enrolled full-time in an Actuarial Science degree program (from their second year of study onward) at a South African university accredited by the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA)
Maintain continuous excellent academic performance in all modules during their first year of study
Maintain an overall average above 60%, with an average of 65% or more for mathematical and actuarial modules
Demonstrate good leadership qualities and participation in extramural activities, such as sports, debating societies, chess clubs, and various olympiads, which could be an added advantage in the selection process
