Established in 1909, the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) has experienced significant growth, currently boasting a membership of approximately 5000 professionals. These members are actively involved in various engineering domains, encompassing academic research, manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, measurement and control, mining, and power infrastructure services. SAIEE's commitment to advancing the field of electrical engineering and engineering practice extends to hosting Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses through the SAIEE Training Academy. This dedicated branch of SAIEE offers a range of engineering courses, fostering knowledge expansion across various engineering disciplines.

Requirements and eligibility
Eligibility criteria for applicants include South African citizenship and successful completion of the matriculation (high school) examination. Prospective applicants must be enrolled in or planning to pursue studies at a South African tertiary institution, which includes universities and universities of technology. The selection process takes into account various factors, such as the financial circumstances of the applicant's parents, the socio-economic context of the applicant, and additional demographic information.

Certified copy of Matric results (to be submitted by 14 January)
Parents/ guardians statement (certified copy)
Parents/ guardians proof of income (latest payslips/ commissioner of oath letter of confirmation if they are unemployed)
