Established in 1966, the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) is dedicated to safeguarding the interests of the industrial and commercial property sector in South Africa. Operating as a member-centric organization, SAPOA is committed to promoting private property ownership and fostering property development.
The primary objective of the organisation is to attain acknowledgment and prominence as a leading property association, both on a national and international scale.
Bursary description
The SAPOA Bursary Fund has been established with the aim of addressing the skills shortage in the South African Commercial Property Industry. This initiative is specifically designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students who face financial challenges, with the ultimate goal of bringing about transformation within the country's commercial property sector.
SAPOA bursaries are granted to individuals pursuing qualifications related to the property field, with a particular focus on the following areas of study:
Finance (BCom) with a specialization in Property Valuation and Management
Property Valuation and Management (BCom)
Property Management (BSc)
Property Studies (BSc)
Real Estate (BSc)
Town and Regional Planning (BSc)
Urban and Regional Planning (BSc)
Construction Studies (BSc)
Quantity Surveying (BSc)
Requirements and eligibility
South African citizen OR South African naturalized citizen
Completed Matric
Studying or intend on studying full-time in one of the aforementioned fields of study
Studying at a recognised University or University of Technology in South Africa (registered with the Council for Higher Education),
Black students, as defined by the BBBEE Act (i.e. African/ Coloured/ Indian)
Good academic record
