About Tiso Foundation Undergraduate

The Tiso Foundation, established in 2001 as a non-profit organisation, holds a visionary mission to empower South Africa's youth through education and leadership development. With steadfast commitment, the foundation aims to address the systemic challenges faced by young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, striving to create opportunities for them to unlock their full potential. Among its initiatives are scholarship programmes, bursaries , and mentorship endeavours, all thoughtfully designed to provide support to students at different stages of their educational journey. The Tiso Foundation is deeply dedicated to nurturing a more equitable and prosperous South Africa by investing in the nation's future leaders.  

About this Bursary

The Foundation will announce when 2023 bursary applications will open via our social media platforms. Please follow the foundation on social media and keep checking their website for further info. Throughout the programme, beneficiaries are offered life skills training and academic support. Upon completion, the Foundation is available to assist the best students to access career opportunities through its network of corporate and institutional relationships. The programme aims: To promote equity in the workplace by supporting strong black students to acquire the necessary academic qualifications To help address the skills shortage in the economy To address challenges of poverty through the avenue of human capital development.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet these selection criteria: Between the ages of 18 and 34 Come from a previously disadvantaged background Be in possession of good to excellent matric results Produce excellent results if already registered as a full-time student Be financially needy Portray an excellent positive attitude Be dedicated to their studies Provide references Be willing to give back to the community Be black, Indian or coloured
