About ILASA

ILASA (Institute for Landscape Architecture in South Africa) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting the field of Landscape Architecture in South Africa. Established in 1985, ILASA provides a platform for Landscape Architects to network, share knowledge and experiences, and collaborate on projects. The organization also advocates for the recognition and advancement of Landscape Architecture as a profession in South Africa, and provides training and development opportunities for its members. ILASA is committed to creating sustainable and resilient environments that enhance the quality of life for all South Africans.

About this Bursary

The ILASA bursary scheme aims to promote diversity in Landscape Architecture by providing funding to those pursuing a qualification in Landscape Architecture. These bursaries cover both undergraduate and postgraduate levels of study.

Eligibility Requirements

- South African citizen - Studying towards (or intending to study) a Landscape Architectural qualification - Studying (or intending to study) at a recognised South African tertiary institution (registered and accredited with South African Council of the Landscape Architectural Profession and the Council for Higher Education) - Achieved a minimum average of 60% in previous year of study, - Proof of financial need.
