The Association is an employers’ organisation registered in terms of the Labour Relations Act and exists to represent the interests of members, as well as to provide them with specialist support services to assist them in the successful running of their businesses. At the close of the financial year, the Association recorded 711 members involved in the building industry and related activities in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
The organisation has been in existence for 120 years and is recognised and respected by a wide range of role players in the building industry and beyond. The Association provides a range of services to members including training, contractual and legal assistance, occupational health and safety consulting, employee benefits schemes, member discounts and a lot more.
Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal recognizes the scarcity of skills within the Building Industry and acknowledges the sad reality that the financial demands of tertiary education, make it near impossible for many South African school leavers to reach their full potential. It was to this end the Association introduced its Bursary fund in 2015, to help financially needing students reach their potential without being hindered by financial constraints and to help address the skills dearth hampering the industry.
Each year the Association welcomes new applicants.
Bursaries are intended to encourage candidates to enter programmes leading to occupational qualifications required to address scarce skills within the Building Industry.
Preference is given to South African citizens residing in KwaZulu-Natal and to disciplines relating specifically to the building industry.
