About this Bursary

The Poliomyelitis Research Foundation (PRF Bursary) is a non-governmental organisation that supports research into poliomyelitis (polio) disease in order to develop medical initiatives. The PRF offers funding for deserving students, in the form of bursaries, research grants, travel grants, and fellowships.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the PRF bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements: Have obtained a minimum pass of 60% (proof required in the form of the latest academic record) Be a South African citizen or have permanent resident status (preference will be given to these applicants) Plan to pursue a PhD degree for a maximum of 3 years Submit the application on or before the specified deadline date; late applications will not be considered Complete all sections of the form and attach all requested information; incomplete forms will not be accepted Type the application form, as hand-written applications will not be accepted Upon completion of the degree, the PRF requires confirmation of graduation as well as a list of publications

How to Apply

To apply for the PRF bursary, you must provide the following documentation, all of which must be certified copies: Your ID document Proof of permanent residency if you are not a South African citizen Your full tertiary academic record The full scope of your proposed research project Applications must be submitted electronically via email to prf@nicd.ac.za .
