About this Bursary
The Shoprite Group offers comprehensive bursaries to support students studying or intending to study scarce skills such as food science , pharmacy , chartered accounting , logistics as well as information technology and retail business management . Shoprite’s bursaries provide financial assistance towards tuition and on-campus accommodation, and are also linked to work-back agreements – ensuring job opportunities upon graduation. Shoprite offers a range of exciting jobs at various offices around Africa, a wide range of vacancies in-store, as well as opportunities through programmes such as the apprenticeships at its Data Science Academy . Eligibility Requirements
The following are the qualification requirements for different bursary opportunities at Shoprite: Accounting: BCom Accounting or BAcc (CA stream) Minimum 65% in Accounting, Taxation, and Auditing 65%+ Aggregate in 2nd to 4th academic year/Honours South African citizen, 27 years old and younger Food Service: Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or related qualification in Hospitality Management/BSc Food Science 60%+ Aggregate in 2nd and 3rd academic year South African citizen, 27 years old and younger IT (Information Technology/Systems): BSc/BCom majoring in Information Technology/Systems Analysis Students in 4th year/Honours academic year South African citizen, 27 years old and younger IT (Data Science): Degree or postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering & Quantitative Management (or similar quantitative degree) Minimum 65% in Mathematics (from 2nd year of study) 60%+ Aggregate in 2nd to 4th academic year/Honours South African citizen, 27 years old and younger For any inquiries, interested individuals may contact Shoprite through email at Bursary@shoprite.co.za.
