Bursary description
The PRF (Postdoctoral Research Fellowship) provides bursaries to eligible individuals interested in undertaking postdoctoral research within South Africa. These scholarships are granted through a competitive selection process and encompass financial support for living expenses, tuition fees, as well as research-related costs.
Requirements and eligibility
To be eligible for the PRF bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Have obtained a minimum pass of 60% (proof required in the form of the latest academic record)
Be a South African citizen or have permanent resident status (preference will be given to these applicants)
Plan to pursue a PhD degree for a maximum of 3 years
Submit the application on or before the specified deadline date; late applications will not be considered
Complete all sections of the form and attach all requested information; incomplete forms will not be accepted
Type the application form, as hand-written applications will not be accepted
Upon completion of the degree, the PRF requires confirmation of graduation as well as a list of publications
