Bursary description
PwC provides diverse financial aid opportunities, including bursaries that are granted to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance during their studies at school or university. The bursaries come with the condition that upon successful completion of studies, recipients must participate in a training program at PwC to acquire practical experience in the field.
PwC offers three types of bursaries to eligible students:
Merit bursary: A one-time payment that is directly paid to the university.
Tuition bursary: A full tuition bursary along with an allowance for books.
Full bursary: A full tuition and on-campus accommodation bursary, as well as an allowance for books and meals.
Requirements and eligibility
Bursaries are awarded to students who are studying or intending to study toward SAICA accredited degree leading to a Chartered Accountant (SA) designation at any SAICA accredited South African university.
General requirements:
Good interpersonal skills
Problem-solving skills
SA Citizen
Leadership skills
Teamwork skills
Academic requirements for matriculants:
Commitment to studying toward a Chartered Accountancy qualification
You must be intending to study full-time at a SAICA accredited institution
You must have a minimum of a Level 6 in Mathematics and English (1st or 2nd language), and an overall average of 70%
Academic requirements for university students:
You must be studying for a CA qualification
You must be studying full time at a SAICA accredited institution
If you are a first-year student you must be passing all University courses with an average of at least 65%
If you are a second-year student you must be passing all University courses with an average of at least 60%
Third and fourth-year students must be passing all courses consistently and must qualify for honours according to the relevant university.
