Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology commenced operations in 1990 in Tongaat as a Computer Training Centre. It established branches in various provinces and today has a national footprint.
Approximately 47% of the South African population cannot afford tertiary education fees. Considering that the institution is a Private Higher Education Institution and receives no government funding or sponsorships, there is never enough funding available for all applicants. All applicants undergo financial screening and are ranked based on their academic priority. For this reason, policies and procedures have been developed for the awarding of bursaries to ensure that the Richfield Graduate Bursary Scheme enables the Institution to play a role in increasing the availability of appropriately qualified graduates to the respective industries and that this process is managed equitably.
