    W&RSETA (Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority) is a leading organisation dedicated to skills development in South Africa.     Bursary description

    The W&RSETA bursary programme is open to students who are studying (or intend to study) within the Wholesale and Retail Sector Scarce Skills.

    The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) is a public organisation, formed to encourage skill development in the Wholesale and Retail sector by way of grants, bursaries, training and learnerships. The W&RSETA’s aim is to become South Africa’s leader in skills development. They aim to do this by helping students develop their capabilities, skills, competencies and the professional workforce in order to better the wholesale and retail sectors.

    Requirements and eligibility

    Minimum criteria in order to qualify for the W&RSETA Bursary:

    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Accepted as a full-time student in any of the selected fields, at any South African tertiary institution (University / University of Technology / TVET Colleges)
    • Studying (or intend on studying) full-time in one of the required fields
    • Do NOT have any other sources of funding for your studies

    * Please note: If a student has applied via the NSFAS they must reapply via W&RSETA.

    The following documentation must be submitted along with a completed application form:

    • ID document (certified copy)
    • Matric Certificate/ Matric results/ NCV Level 4 Certificate (certified copy)
    • Grade 9 final results for TVET College students (certified copy)
    • Full academic record/ statement of results if available
    • Proof of tertiary registration/ admission
    • Proof of accommodation if applicable
    • Parents/guardians' ID documents (certified copies)Parents/guardians' proof of income (employer’s details and latest payslips)
